Das engl. "roseate" bedeutet "resembling a rose especially in color", also "rosenartig" oder speziell "rosenfarbig", "rosenrot".
Daraus entstand wie im Deutschen "alles rosarot sehen" auch die Bedeutung "übertrieben optimistisch" sein.
Rosen und die Farbe rosa werden allgemein mit Optimismus assoziiert.
Das Wort "roseate" geht zurück auf lat. "roseus" und "rosa" = "Rose". Das Wort kam im 19. Jh. auf, wobei die wörtlich Benutzung (also "rosenartig") bereits im 16.Jh. aufkam (z.B. zur Beschreibung von Sonnenauf- und untergang).

Pinks are popular garden plants with an impressive history, having been grown for hundreds of years.
